Wild Weather: Flash Floods Feared In Plains, Midwest
Meteorologists warned severe thunderstorms were threatening to trigger dangerous flash floods from the Plains to the Great Lakes on Sunday and Monday. Weather.com says while the risk of tornadoes was lower than that of previous days, large hail, damaging winds, flooding rains, and dangerous lightning could hamper the first full day of summer in the north-central Plains from Minnesota and Iowa to west-central Kansas and eastern Colorado. Most of Iowa was under either a severe thunderstorm watch or flash flood watch on Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.
