Friday is the last day before the second stage of the World Cup tournament, and for many players, the last day of unrestricted eating and drinking before Ramadan starts on Saturday. For one month, Muslims around the world will abstain from food and drink during daylight. France’s Karim Benzema and Germany’s Mesut Ozil are two of the most high profile Muslim players still in the World Cup, though the list encompasses athletes playing for France, Germany, Nigeria, Belgium and Switzerland.
