Carmelo Anthony, LeBron James and Dwyane Wade are among the most established NBA players garnering the attention of the masses. Each player is currently considered an unrestricted free agent going into the NBA’s opening of free agency on July 1. Together, the three superstars caused a collective $59.13 million cap hit to their teams in 2013, but they were not the only high priced players from a year ago who are now able to test the open market. Dirk Nowitzki ($22.72 million cap hit), Pau Gasol ($19.29 million cap hit) and Paul Pierce ($15.33 million cap hit) are also about to become free agents. No team will get a “steal” by negotiating with the aforementioned players; they are nearing the end of their careers while still commanding top dollar.
