As Tropical Storm Arthur gains strength off the coast of Florida and moves up the east coast this week, lifeguards and weather experts are warning visitors to be aware of rip currents and dangerous surf. Brad Reinhart, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service said, Rip currents are narrow, powerful channels of water that are moving away from the shore, they occur when there are a lot of waves crashing directly on the shore.
