Thiago Silva scored an early goal Friday to give Brazil a 1-0 halftime lead over Colombia in the World Cup quarterfinals. The Brazil captain scored with his left knee in the seventh minute after a corner from Neymar. The cross missed everyone in front of goal and Silva came from behind the defense to score near the far post. Midfielder Juan Cuadrado’s left-footed shot from the top of the area went just wide in the 11th.
