On-demand ride-sharing startup Lyft has been aggressively expanding its service across the U.S. over the last year, but this week could mark its biggest launch and biggest challenge yet. That’s because the company is preparing to make its service available in the New York market for the first time ever. On Friday, Lyft will make its service available to New Yorkers looking to get around in Brooklyn and Queens where taxi service and other forms of transportation are scarce.
