James Garner, who passed away at 86 on Saturday, will always be remembered for his legendary career on TV and in movies. Garner played everything from a cowboy to a romantic lead. Even before the actor got his big break in “Maverick,” he proved to be a star in his early roles, starting with “Sayonara” in 1957 with Marlon Brando. His first leading role was in 1958 in “Darby’s Rangers,” a part he was given after Charlton Heston walked off the set.
