SnagFilms will release the Forest Whitaker -narrated documentary Sewing Hope, about Time 100 honoree Sister Rosemary Nyirumbe. Nyirumbe runs a school in Uganda, where she teaches girls who were kidnapped and sexually assaulted in Uganda how to sew and plant crops. Her work to help the victims of Joseph Kony and his Lord’s Resistance Army in Uganda’s civil war was recently highlighted by Time magazine, which named Nyirumbe as one of its 100 most influential people of 2014. Sewing Hope is powerful proof of individual action and a beautiful story of happiness and meaning returning for those who knew only despair.
