AIG will pay $960 million to settle a lawsuit that accused the U.S. commercial insurance giant of giant misleading investors about its financial condition in the lead-up to the 2008 financial crisis and the company’s taxpayer-funded bailout. News of the settlement came Monday as AIG reported a 12.5% rise in quarterly profit, sending company shares up 2.7% in after-hours trading.
