Heavy Rain Halts Final Round Of PGA Championship
The final round of the PGA Championship has been halted because of heavy rain. Play was suspended at 12:53 p.m. EDT Sunday, with leader Rory McIlroy still more than two hours from teeing off. Workers brought out squeegees, trying furiously to push standing water off the course, to no avail. The second suspension of the tournament – play also was halted for less than an hour Friday morning – raised the possibility that the final major of the year could carry into Monday.
