South Africa To Extradite ‘most-wanted’ British Fugitive
A South African court on Monday approved the extradition of convicted British fraudster and drug dealer Martin Evans, described as one of Britain’s most-wanted men. Police spokesman Solomon Makgale said a court in Johannesburg had found Evans, who had been on the run for three years, “to be extraditable”. 52 year old Evans, from Swansea in Wales, was arrested on Saturday in a house north of Johannesburg. A once-successful businessman, Evans was serving a 21-year jail term for drugs smuggling when in 2011 he failed to return to a British prison after release on a five-day leave.
