The police chief of Ferguson, Missouri, appealed for calm Wednesday after three nights of unrest over the police killing of an unarmed black teenager. Chief Thomas Jackson told reporters, “We’re just asking that the protests be peaceful. We understand the anger, we understand that people want answers, and we understand that we’ve got a problem.” Jackson also said that police planned to release audio recordings from the day of the shooting “shortly,” but he did not give a date.
