Israeli police said Wednesday a rocket fired from the Gaza Strip landed in southern Israel, about two hours before a 72-hour cease-fire between Israel and Hamas was due to expire. Earlier, three members of a bomb disposal unit were killed when an Israeli artillery shell they were trying to move exploded. The temporary truce has stemmed many of the bombings and rocket fire from and into Gaza while both sides continue peace talks in Egypt — the cease-fire was set to expire at midnight.
