If there is one iconic image out of Ferguson, Missouri, it is that of tear-gas wielding officers in helmets standing face-to-face with protesters who are angry about the killing of 18-year-old Michael Brown. These protesters say they continue to march because they are tired of being scared of their local law enforcement–and of the excessive force they say police have employed against them for years.
