‘Washington Post’ Editorial Board Won’t Use Name Of Its Home NFL Team
The controversy over the Washington Redskins’ name has made it to the team’s backyard. The Washington Post editorial board announced on Friday that the paper’s opinion section will no longer use the name Redskins with respect to the Washington NFL team. The board announced in an editorial, “That’s the standard we apply to all offensive vocabulary, and the team name unquestionably offends not only many Native Americans but many other Americans, too.”
