LIGHTNING RELEASES 09/02/14 -Bands, solo artists and songwriters will be center stage now that Quinn Public Relations has decided to specialize in media publicity for musicians. The Troy, New York- based company will concentrate its efforts on building visibility and name recognition for bands, solo artists and songwriters.

“This is a niche business venture. Our mission is to develop and maintain a media  presence for musicians. It’s a unique fusion of music and public relations.  Many musicians have the songs, the music, the band and the talent, but lack  the ability to generate media publicity. These are the musicians we are looking for,” said Larry Quinn, owner.

Quinn’s public relations background and music business experience combine to make this new enterprise appealing. He has performed PR services for small businesses,  local government and political campaigns for many years.” My music business experience indicates that media attention for musicians can have a positive effect on CD sales and bookings,  said Quinn. I have seen a direct correlation between media publicity and the popularity of a band.”

Quinn is a singer/ songwriter and has produced several CDs and records. He has written and successfully placed news releases and features locally, regionally and nationwide. “As a musician, I know how important publicity is to the success of  musicians. Merging  business publicity expertise with my music industry skills, I will be able to offer up-and-coming musicians  the opportunity to build a presence in the media.”

Larry Quinn was the lead singer and songwriter for Tree Fox, one of the top bands in New York’s  Capital Region in the 1970s. Tree Fox traveled a circuit between Syracuse and Boston. The band released a national single on AMG Records of Cincinnati, and an album, Rough Road, and a single on Fraternity Records also of Cincinnati. He also produced singles in the 1980s for Ariel, a popular Albany, New York band, and released them on Double L Records, Quinn’s former label. After an extensive career in government, Quinn recently recorded and released two CDs on his new label, Third Son Records. Quinn’s son, Alex, plays guitar and co-produced both CDs at his home studio in Nashville.

Although Quinn Public Relations will specialize in media publicity for musicians, the firm is also open for non-music business.
