Citibank (NYSE: C) has appointed Michael Zink as its new country head for Citibank’s Singapore operations.
Mr. Zink, age 51, will oversee the New York-based bank’s institutional clients group, consumer banking and global cards operations, as well as Citi’s global wealth management businesses in the country.
He will take over from former country head and chief executive of Citibank Singapore, Jonathan Larsen, who was promoted to head Citibank’s Asia-Pacific consumer banking and global cards business last October. Larsen is now located in Hong Kong.
“Michael has strong international experience with Citi, covering all the major markets such as Russia, Indonesia, South Korea and, more recently, China,” said Mr Apte.
Zink joined Citibank in 1988 and is currently president and executive director of the Guangdong Development Bank (GDB). Zink will continue to hold these two positions until a successor is found.
