Lending Club Launches Photo Contest for Bing-Like Homepage

Peer to peer lending firm Lending Club took a cue from Bing (NYSE: MSFT) in its most recent website design by integrating a look and feel where the website’s background can be can be changed on a regular basis. Lending Club has now launched a photo contests so that its members and other individuals can submit entries into the company’s contest which will be used as a background on Lending Club’s new website.

Here are the instructions that Lending Club has on its website to enter:

Send us a picture to be used on Lending Club’s web site any time before midnight (Pacific Time) on April 30, 2010.   On May 3rd, the Lending Club team will announce the 10 finalist photographs and will post them on our Facebook fan page for a public vote.  The photographs with the most votes by May 31, 2010 wins the contest.

The prizes for the contest include a $1,000 first prize, a $500 second prize, a $300 third prize and up to three honorary mentions which will each earn $100.00.

The contest started on Monday, March 22nd and will go through April 30th.

Lending Club is simultaneously having a “tweet to win” contest. “During the time of the contest (from Monday, March 22nd and April 30th), we will randomly pick a tweet that mentions the photo contest (containing a link to our post and the hashtag #LCphoto) to win a Lending Club t-shirt or messenger bag,” according to a statement on the company’s website.
