Ford (NYSE: F) Offers Special “Raptor” Edition F-150

Ford Motor Co (NYSE: F) said that it has been inundated with orders for its specialty F-150 SVT “Raptor” off-road pickup and says that sales for the specialty pick-up have been well beyond its expectations.

The “Raptor” is a special edition-F150 that was developed by Ford’s in-house sunk works and is is classified as a “Special Vehicle Team” (SVT) vehicle.

The F-150 SVT Raptor carriers a price reported price tag of $56,649 and the base price of the raptor starts at $48,299.

Purchases can add options including a $1,300 moon roof, a $1,300 graphics package, a $2,300 Sony navigation system, a $350 box extender, a $500 rearview camera and $500 for orange accents.

The Raptor is allowing Ford to enjoy a small-scale return to Detroit’s past when it made high-profits from trucks.

“It has a very smooth ride on the highway, and its comfortable the way it’s set up, which is quite surprising”, said Ford in a press release.
