When becoming a peer to peer lender, You are becoming the bank and taking on the task of choosing which loans that you should fund and which you believe aren’t worth the risk of default . As early investors in Prosper.com know, this is not an easy task. You need to be very selective about who you provide loans to on these sites to minimize your default and delinquency rates.
