Citibank (NYSE: C) Announces Customer Appreciation Week for Manhattan Residents

Citibank (NYSE: C), one of the largest banks in the United States will be kicking off their “Our Promise to New York” event on Saturday to let customers in New York City to know that they are committed to them. The bank will be having “NYC Appreciation” events at branches throughout Manhattan on Saturday, September 26^th.

The bank will be holding a number of events geared toward family and children including offering things such as the opportunity to meet corporate executives, free food, free blood pressure screenings, free chiropractic massages and live music. Citibank will also be handing out a lot of free promotional materials such as caps and bandannas.

Citibank is also hoping to win over residents of NYC by expanding the hours of many of their branches and have announced a number of new branches that will be opening soon on their “Citi Promises” website. Citibank currently has 65 branches and 700 ATMs in Manhattan. Citibank has also announced that it plans on working with organizations such as City Harvest, a food rescue program designed to help feed those who would otherwise go hungry in the city.

Citi has certainly done an excellent job covering their bases in making sure that residents of the largest financial center in the United States feel that they are appreciated. Some have questioned the sincerity of Citibank’s motives in their customer appreciation methods. By making the events only in Manhattan, they are acknowledging their appreciation of only a small fraction of their customers–customers that are much more likely to be Wall Street traders and business executives than in other parts of the country.

The events will go on this weekend from September 25^th to September 27^th throughout Manhattan. Here’s a list of events that will be taking place on Saturday, September 26^th:
