Citigroup, Inc (NYSE: C) Appoints New Asia Executive

Citigroup, Inc (NYSE: C) announced on Tuesday that it has appointed Philippe Dirckx as a new regional client and sales management head for intermediaries and infrastructures for the region.

Dirckx, based out of Hong Kong, will now lead a regional team managing an existing portfolio of high-profile banks and broker dealer clients. Dirckx will also be tasked with building up contacts with infrastructure clients, including regional exchanges, central depositaries and clearing corporations. The role will also include creating and executive market advocacy initiatives in the region.

The New York-based bank has also brought on a number of new executives in its Asia division this year. Citigroup, Inc (NYSE: C) hired Alasdair Morrison, former head of Morgan Stanley Asia, as a senior advisor to institutional clients business in January. The bank hired Chris Ryan, former Asia-Pacific chief executive officer of Fidelity International as managing director for investor Services for the region in April.

Dirckx will report to David Russell who is regional head of securities and fund services for Citigroup’s Asia-Pacific region, and to London-based Tom Isaac, Citigroup’s global head of client sales management for intermediaries.
