HSBC Holdings PLC (NYSE: HBC) said on Wednesday that it named former Merrill Lynch (NYSE: BAC) executive Pablo Goldberg as its head of emerging markets research, where he will help build the bank’s emerging markets franchise across all asset classes.
Goldberg most recently served as the bank’s U.K. head of Latin America fixed income research. He joined HSBC from Merrill Lynch in 2008 before the company was purchased by Bank of America Corp (NYSE: BAC), where he was head of emerging markets debt research.
The executive will be continued to be based out of New York and will report to Seven Major, HSBC’s global head of fixed income research and Chief Global Economist Stephen King, and locally to Head of Research Americas Patrick Boucher.

Shares of HBC traded down 0.29% hitting $48.41 during mid-day trading on Tuesday.
