Citigroup, Inc (NYSE: C) has named Duncan Philips as a new co-head of the company’s debt syndicate team for Asia Pacific region excluding Japan effective immediately, according to a report from Dow Jones Newswires.
The report cited an internal memo saying that Philips, who was formerly the head of Citigroup’s Japan debt syndicate, now jointly heads the Hong Kong-based syndicate team along with Terence Chia, who was previously the sole head of the team.
The memo said that Philips has been with the New York-based financial company for eight years and that “he played a key role in establishing and developing the Australian Samurai market, helping Citi maintain a 100% track record in winning mandates from the region.”
The memo said that Brian Wu has replaced Phillips as head of Citigroup’s Japan debt syndicate.
